Rule of thumb about teaching (and life in general):
Have a great relationship with every colleague but stay the HELL out of the gossip.
I am learning pretty quickly to just stay out of all of the petty arguments. Sometimes I wonder if teachers in my school have a hard time acting like adults because they are surrounded by kids under the age of 8 all day.
I don’t know if it’s because I work at a small alternative school, but we don’t have a gossip problem at all, as far as I’m aware. It’s nice.
